Health Science Technologies

[Prerequisite - Biology]​

All students completing this program earn their First Aid and CPR certifications. Selected students have the opportunity to earn their Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) Certificate.

Health Science Technologies

Learn about the human body and help people get and stay healthy. This course is designed to prepare students interested in a career as a doctor, nurse, physical therapist, dentist, EMT or anything else having to do with human health.

Units covered include: human anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, safety, legal and ethical issues within the health fields, prevention, and practical skills for caring for patients of all ages in a variety of settings. Students completing the second year of the program will also perform a 10-week internship at a local healthcare facility.

Health Science Technologies

Students in Health Science Technologies participate in HOSA - Future Health Professionals, an organization that provides leadership and professional opportunities for students interested in pursuing a career in the health fields.

College credit is available through Running Start, and many students choose to go on to two- and four-year post-secondary training programs to help them achieve their career goals.
