SST Careers in Education

Students serve as assistant teachers in The Wright Start Preschool. They help young children grow and develop by managing all aspects of the preschool program including planning and implementing developmentally appropriate experiences.

SST students work with the parents of the preschoolers, participate in job shadows, and volunteer in the community on a number of projects that impact children of all ages. Students who complete the Careers in Education program at SST will do an intensive internship in a local school or educational setting.

Educators Rising

Careers in Education students participate in the Educators Rising organization, which helps to build leadership and professional skills.

Dual credit (college credit) opportunities are available in both Careers in Education 1 and Careers in Education 2. Many graduates go on to attend 4-year and 2-year colleges to earn teaching and teaching assistant certificates at all educational levels.
